• Install your gate posts before your fence posts — fence panels are more forgiving for a custom fit than a gate.

You will need two Finishing Posts — one to finish the fence run, and one to support the gate.

Your gate will perform best with complete fence panels on both sides. At minimum, the hinge post should be part of a connected fence run — tying it to a panel that continues to another post lets that post help carry the gate's swinging load, instead of the hinge post bearing it alone. If space restrictions make this impossible, contact us for alternative solutions.

Hinges only open one direction. Decide which way you want your gate to open before mounting your hinges.

Gate screws are 1¼" black stainless steel

Insert the Rail (C) all the way into one bottom Gate Bracket (A) until it hits the back corner — make sure it's seated against the back of the bracket wall. Press firmly, then repeat for the other side of the gate.

Important: Light force may be required to seat the rail fully.

Insert Stiles (D) fully into the bottom Gate Brackets (A) until they meet the rail.

Fasten using 4 screws (B) per bracket. Apply pressure to make sure your rails and stiles are in place.

Insert Trimmed Board (E) and one Board (F) into the side vertical stiles, then insert the remaining two middle boards (F) for the simplest install.

Note: Insert boards fully into the bottom rail.

Firmly press each Rail Bracket (A) into your remaining Rail (C).

Note: Ensure the rail is pushed all the way to the back of the bracket.

Install your pre-assembled top rail onto the gate frame. Fasten using 8 screws (B).

Note: Apply downward force on your top rail while screwing into place, to ensure your frame is square.

For each hinge: insert your Tension Pin (J) into a hole on top of your Hinge (G) and rotate it all the way right — this takes a lot of force. Hold it there, remove the smaller pin, ease the tension pin back left, and place the smaller pin in a new hole.

Using your two wrenches, loosen or tighten the nuts on the hinge to adjust the spacing between your gate and hinge post. This can also help you moderately level your gate later on.

Fasten the Latch Finger (I) to the top bracket with 6 screws.

Fasten the Hinges (G) to the front of the gate brackets with 8 total screws.

Place wooden blocks under your gate to ensure it is level with your fence rails. Fasten hinges to the post with 6 total screws (3 in each hinge).

Open your gate — making sure to set it on the two wooden blocks to keep it level. Fasten hinges to the post with 12 total screws (6 in each hinge).

Level the gate to the fence post by adjusting the nuts on the hinges. Check the gate to make sure it functions correctly. Mark where you need to install your latch catch.
