• Pre-assemble the gate frame as a dry run before driving any permanent screws — confirm every piece fits and the frame goes together in the correct order.
• Install your gate posts before your fence posts — fence panels are more forgiving for a custom fit than a gate.

Gates do not come with their own posts

You will need two Finishing Posts — one to finish the fence run, and one to support the gate.

Your gate will perform best with complete fence panels on both sides. At minimum, the hinge post should be part of a connected fence run — tying it to a panel that continues to another post lets that post help carry the gate's swinging load, instead of the hinge post bearing it alone. If space restrictions make this impossible, contact us for alternative solutions.

Hinges only open one direction. Decide which way you want your gate to open before mounting your hinges.

Insert the Stile (B) all the way into one bottom Gate Bracket (A) until it hits the back corner — make sure it's seated against the back of the bracket wall. Press firmly, then repeat for the other side of the gate.

Important: Light force may be required to seat the stile fully.

Insert the Rail (C) fully into the bottom Gate Bracket (A) until it meets the vertical stile.

Insert the opposing side and fasten with 8 screws (D) in both brackets. Apply pressure to keep the rails and stiles seated while fastening.

Insert the Trimmed Board (E) and one Board (F) into the side vertical stiles first, then add the remaining two middle Boards (F) — this order makes for the easiest install.

Note: Seat all boards fully into the bottom rail.

Firmly press each Rail Bracket (A) onto the remaining Rail (C).

Note: Don't push the rail all the way to the back of the bracket.

Install the pre-assembled top rail onto the gate frame and fasten with 8 screws (D).

Note: Press down on the top rail while screwing it in to keep your frame square.

Align the holes and assemble the Gate Brace (G) using the included hex bolts and washers.

Note: The hardware ships bundled with the gate brace.

Fasten the brace to your gate with 4 screws (D).

Note: For best performance, install the brace with its top on the same side as the latch finger.

Optional, for a slower self-close. Insert the Tension Pin (I) into a hole on top of the Hinge (H) and rotate it to the right — this takes some force.

To loosen the tension: with the pin turned all the way right, remove the smaller pin, let the tension pin ease back to the left, then reinsert the smaller pin in a new hole. This loosens the hinge and makes installation easier.

Using two wrenches, loosen or tighten the nuts on the hinge to adjust the spacing between your gate and hinge post — this also helps with leveling later on.

Fasten the Latch Finger (K) to the top bracket with 6 of the black screws included with it.

Fasten the Hinges (H) to the front of the gate brackets with 12 total of the black screws included with them.

Place wooden blocks under your gate to keep it level with your fence rails, then fasten the hinges to the post with 6 total of the black screws included with the Hinges (H).

Open your gate, resting it on the two wooden blocks to keep it level, then fasten the hinges to the post with 12 total of the black screws included with the Hinges (H).

Level the gate to the fence post by adjusting the hinge nuts, then check that it swings and functions correctly. Mark where the latch catch needs to go.

Open your gate, then align and fasten the Latch Catch (J) with the 6 black screws included with it.
