How to angle your WamBam vinyl fence at a non-90 degree corner

If your fence line needs to change direction at exactly 90 degrees, that’s straightforward — simply mount your brackets on adjacent sides of the post and you’re good to go.

But what if your angle isn’t a perfect right angle? That’s where a lot of homeowners get stuck. Whether your fence needs to follow a property boundary, wrap around an irregular yard, or turn at any angle other than 90 degrees, our bracket technique handles it cleanly. A few things to keep in mind

• This technique works at any angle other than 90 degrees. For a standard 90 degree corner, simply mount your brackets on adjacent sides of the post.
• You’ll need a standard drill and a few common hardware items available at any home improvement store. The video covers exactly what to buy.
• If your fence line has multiple direction changes at different angles, plan your layout and sketch it out before you start installing.

Style-specific exceptions

The bracket technique shown in the video works for almost all WamBam vinyl fence panels — but there are three exceptions worth knowing about before you start.

Cambridge & Westport privacy fence — extra step required

Angling the Cambridge privacy fence or the Westport privacy fence panel takes a little more work than other styles. Instead of attaching the included U-channel to the post as you normally would, you’ll need to affix the U-channel to the edge of the privacy boards themselves. This allows the panel to pivot at the angle you need while still keeping the boards securely in place.

Edgewood — not compatible with the hinge trick

The Edgewood style privacy panel cannot accommodate the bracket angle technique shown in the video. If you have Edgewood panels and need to angle your fence line at something other than 90 degrees, please call us at 877-778-5733 before you begin so we can help you find the best solution for your project.

Important: Do not attempt the hinge trick with Edgewood panels — the panel design cannot accommodate it.
