5 stars! We bought our house last fall and being on a corner lot next to a busy road and with people walking the sidewalk past our backyard, one of the first things we wanted to do this spring was put in a fence for privacy and the safety of our kids. One of the problems I anticipated was roots, since much of our back yard is lined with pine trees. I knew if we went the traditional fence route - digging large holes for setting posts in concrete - it would be darn near impossible and such a headache. So we began researching alternatives and came across WamBam. We watched a few videos, read reviews, and it seemed like a great solution for us. The ordering and shipping of materials was very thought out and detailed and delivery went smoothly. Then came the part I was least looking forward to, which was pounding in all the posts. But it turned out I didn't need to be worried at all because out of 40-45 posts I only hit roots one time and had to shift the pole a couple inches. I was amazed and so relieved. If you're installing yourself like I did, I highly recommend renting the gas powered post pounder which will be a life saver for your arms and shoulders. From there it was only a matter of assembling the panels which was pretty simple and straightforward. I really liked the fact that you could make panels shorter if needed with just a couple saw cuts of the rails and/or panel sections (if you plan on trimming I'd recommend having a miter and table saw handy, but a circular saw will work too). I ended up doing this several times where I needed 4, 5, or 6 foot panels - I even had a unique situation where I needed a 1 foot panel section and it worked great. In the end, we have a beautiful new fence and peace of mind knowing we have privacy and our kids are safe. We couldn't be happier with WamBam!
Hi Christie, I forgot that I told you I would send pictures of the fence topper. Please see attached for photos. The mortar on the top of these fences isn't the best to mount things to, but it turned out alright. If I were to do it again I would fab up the whole upright and skip using the orange leveling donuts. With such a small upright, it's very easy to make perfectly level vertically. So the donuts actually make things harder because the self tapping screws skate around and end up taking it out of level. *Note from WamBam the manufacturer. We do not sell and cannot make curved surface mounts. This was a custom creation by the customer. Overall, it turned out nice and I think looks clean. I will definitely use your products again, the quality seems good and installation is simple. Thanks for all your help.
