Handy Andy – It’s a First!

Tyler the Escape Artist coming to terms with reality.

Thinking Outside the Box

As a fencing company that prides ourselves in helping each of our customers meet their individual needs, we’ve come across many creative ways that our customers have installed their fencing. We thought we had seen it all, but one of our valued customers, Joe, proved us wrong.

After installing his Handy Andy fence, Joe came outside one day to find his furry friend, Tyler, on the wrong side of the fence. He had managed to wiggle his way through the space in between the pickets. Apparently Tyler is a bit of an escape artist.

Joe had to think outside the box to keep Tyler in the box. After some contemplation and a little ingenuity, Joe decided to slide his top rail down to the bottom. Tyler can no longer wiggle through the rails, and he is too short to make the leap over the lowered rail. This rendition of our Handy Andy fence gave us a little giggle when we first heard about it, but it turned out to be the perfect solution!

Feedback like this from our valued clients always brings a smile (and sometimes even a giggle) to our faces. Don’t hesitate to share photos of your fencing project to iwant2win@wambamfence.com for a chance to win a prize in our annual photo contest. Testimony: “An Insidious Screening of Hideousness”

We recently received a testimony with photos from one of our creative and distinguished customers, named Andy. He explained that he wanted to hide his trash can, wood pile and recycling bin. The challenge was that the front of his house is really the back of the house; the back of the house faces the street. In Andy’s words, “Weird, huh?” Since the area of concern was visible to people driving and walking by, he needed something that would not only do the job, but look good doing it. According to Andy, he wanted something that wouldn’t be a “visual meh.” So, he turned to WamBam.

Andy decided to fence his garbage in, calling it “…an insidious screening of hideousness!” He started with a fairly blank slate. He did however discover a hidden concrete walkway as he was excavating. As with many installation projects, he was surprised at the discovery, but was not deterred. He said it “Required some carnival style ring-the-bell strikes with a sledge and voila-they were reduced to manageable rubble.” After marking the underground utilities, he was ready to go.

Next, he laid out his site, based it in and pounded the posts. He followed with pavers and a tumbled bluestone border and finished with the fence, gate and bluestone steppers. He got the creative idea to cut the WamBam 6’ Peeping Tom Vinyl Fence down to 4’. This allowed him to cover what he needed to, while still utilizing the window in the area.

Andy’s customization really showcases the creativity that can go into installing do-it-yourself fencing! He ended his letter with, “We love it, neighbors love it and no more gazing at my garbage!” This is why we at WamBam do what we do. The pleasure and pride that our customer’s experience after completing a project themselves is what drives us to keep coming out with innovative ideas and quality products.

Doggie Daycare Fencing

Doggie Daycares: A Rapidly Growing Industry

WamBam Fence has become a popular choice for doggie daycare fencing in this rapidly growing industry. WamBam Fence offers a unique and affordable surface mounted fence solution which makes it appealing to install on a concrete surface, both indoors and out. Vinyl is also a great material choice for doggie daycare fencing as it’s non-toxic, easy to clean and doesn’t show scratches as easily as other materials.

The Search for Doggie Daycare Fencing is Over

Brian and Dana Duscher searched a long time for a suitable fence for their dog spa business. When they came across WamBam Fence, they knew they had found a doggie daycare fencing fit. After several renditions of sketches and many design changes, Dana’s Dog Spa and Boarding is open for business. Round of ‘apaws’ for The Duscher’s creative efforts!

Customers Say it Best

Brian had this to say about his experience (some light editing has been done for readability):

“Customer service is above and beyond what I would have ever expected. From the first phone call to the last email they have been there supporting my project. Can’t say enough about the service. Now for the product, how do you say or express something that fit so perfect for the project? I dealt with several other companies tying to get this project designed and going. Wambam and Fezan have been amazing to work with and trust. This was a big design nightmare and struggle but after talking with Fezan several times, thinking he was going to get tired of me real soon , he was able to guide me in the right direction. My wife had something to do with a lot of the talk, she had new ideas (of course she did). Well after the struggles the product was shipped –  85 boxes! It showed up and we were off and running. The outside fencing went in like a dream, it looks amazing and was easy to follow. It actually taught me something and as cold as it was it was a joy to install. Then came the interior project, thinking this was going to be a nightmare and a struggle that I would never forget, it actually turned out to be quite an easy job once I figured out the measurements and the cuts. I have never worked with this kind of product before but the items the come with the product work awesomely, and the level adjusters make Easy work of the project. I am happy to say I was able to do the whole project in less than a month even with errors and a few hiccups from some of the product. Fezan was quick to help and to send out what ever was needed or replace what might have been wrong. The service I received kept me comfortable and confident that the investment was more than worth it. Dana’s Dog Spa is now Dana’s Dog Spa and Boarding thanks to an amazing company and superb product. I will be buying in the future. Again I can’t say enough about the product and service we received.“

“Wood Fences Need Repair”: An 81 Yr Old’s Story

“Wood fences need constant repair… Note the painting back then could be had for a home cooked meal from a hobo or bindle stiff.”

– Bud Mackinga, in a hand written letter to WamBam

Our oldest known customer didn't want to maintain wood fences so purchased and installed a vinyl one

Our oldest known customer didn’t want to maintain a wood fence so purchased and installed a vinyl one

Say hello to Bud, our oldest known customer. Not wanting to deal with wood fences anymore due to the painting and staining hassles, he decided to go for maintenance-free vinyl. Thus, at the age of 81 he single-handedly installed his Jiminy Picket Vinyl Fence. Although he has an email address (with “1935” appended to it), Bud’s not one for email so all communication between us and him was done via phone or snail mail. He had a great experience and wanted to share a review, so he wrote a letter and utilized technology by having someone fax it to us. Check out his letter here.

Here’s an excerpt from his letter:
“When I was a child, I can still remember my mother and her friends talking about the green shuttered house & white picket fence.

Now, all these years later my wife wants the white picket fence.

Wanting nothing more than to please Sue (my wife) I start looking (o yah).

Wood fences need constant repair because of deteriation, rot, peeling paint, etc. Note the painting back than could be had for a home cooked meal from a hobo or bindle stiff. Now I would have to do it myself. “No thanks.”

Not able to afford a contractor what to do, what to do. I needed something better than wood. Digging holes lifting heavy bags of cement mixing with water, and pouring and stamping it in the hold to hold post’s upright

All of this lead to my quest for something else.

I started to search the internet not an easy task for an 80 year old senior citizen

After bumbling thru the internet checking Lowe’s, Home Depot, local fence companys for what seams like forever I somehow stumble across this funny name Wam Bam Fence Co (what the h***) give it a go…” Read more.

Bud was a pleasure to work with, and we are very impressed at his energy, drive and handy man skills!
